Polyamide (PA) is one of the most important technical thermoplastics. The proven strength of polyamide tubing is its robustness.
Polyamides (PA for short) are processed into fibres in very large quantities. Well-known synthetic representatives of polyamides are marketed under the names Nylon (PA66), Perlon (PA6), Cordura and Kevlar. They are also among the most important technical thermoplastics.
They are tough materials with high strength and rigidity, excellent impact resistance and good abrasion and wear resistance. In its basic form, PA is a milky white thermoplastic that can be dyed in any colour.
Polyamides can be categorised into the following basic types based on the number of polar amide groups contained in their polymer chains: polyamide 6, polyamide 66, polyamide 11 and polyamide 12. We mainly process the polyamide types PA 6, PA 11 and PA 12 in a wide variety of designs.
Polyamides are among the most important and useful construction thermoplastics due to their outstanding wear resistance, good coefficient of friction and very good temperature resistance and impact strength. Polyamide is also characterised by very good chemical resistance and is a particularly oil-resistant plastic.
